We'd be happy to add in additional untagged fandoms, so long as it's something you've written for before.
Our reasons for limiting the number of fandoms are two; the first is (as you've guessed) that the tagging becomes incredibly unwieldy; the second is that we had a couple of creators who bailed on their auctions the first year, because they had offered a large number of fandoms and ended up not being that interested in creating for the one their top bidder had chosen. So that's why we're asking that the extra untagged fandoms be ones for which you've already created -- it helps address the second concern as well as the first.
But yes, this seems like a good way to get those tiny Yuletide fandoms in there. If you're willing to do the promotion to make sure other people know those extra teeny-tiny fandoms are on offer, we're happy for you to do it!
