Fandom Trumps Hate

We auctioned off nearly 400 fanworks in 2018, and have seen some incredible results in the AO3 collection and our tag here (well, back when posts with links were still showing up in the tags)! But we also haven’t heard back about a lot of auctions.

Over the next few days, we’ll be emailing 2018 bidders to check in and find out the status of their fanwork. If you get this email, please take a moment to reply!

If you offered a fanwork for auction in 2018 but haven’t posted it yet:

• If your bidder lets us know you’re in communication with them and they’re happy, we’re happy.
• If you’ve let things slide a bit and your bidder is wondering where you are, you have until February 1, the day signups for 2019 close, to post your fanwork or work out a timeline with your bidder.
• If you post a late 2018 fanwork (or heck, a very late 2017 one), please let us know! Email us at [email protected] and if it’s publicly available, send us a link.
• Creators who haven’t posted by February 1, and whose bidders haven’t let us know they’re satisfied, will no longer be allowed to offer auctions in FTH. You can still participate as a bidder! But to make sure people bid year after year, we need our creators to show that they can follow through.
• If you’re in danger of being banned, you will get an email from us first, so there’s no need to inundate us with questions about your status! If you don’t get an email from us about it, your bidder has let us know they’re happy.

So please, if you’re worried that posting a late fanwork won’t count, have no fear! You have nearly three more weeks to get it up without being banned.

(Note: If you are still working on a fanwork for either the 2017 or 2018 auction, we recommend that you do not participate this year, even if you are not in danger of being banned. Please prioritize fulfilling your current obligations before committing to more!)
